Taichung Tea room

無為草堂,
I'd been longing for visiting this magical place
located in Taichung city, as soon as I got to know the name of it.
Once you stepped into this hidden gem of tranquility in the middle of the bustling city central,
It is completely a different world while you feel it is not something apart from the real lives;
but something lively exists in the extension of it.
It is a place of surreality while it is purely a place of locale's daily lives.
you'll know what it means from the name of the tea room;
"無為", the word of  Lao‐tse Lao‐tzu, which is literally translated as "Doing nothing",
does not necessarily mean it.
It is rather something which should be interpreted as "Being Natural",
which immediately reminds me of the word "自然",
one of the major themes repeatedly refered in Natsume Soseki's works.
Following your very own nature sometimes seems so difficult and hard in Tokyo;
while everything seemed so simple and there's nothing complicated while I was there somehow.
It is not the easy positivity, but certain generosity which does not judge or discriminate ins and outs.
Taiwan is the country where makes me feel that way.
and probably that is why I like it there so much.
