I used to think that death is an instantaneous moment just like a tic mark in a scale, however after these years, I started to notice that death is not very much like something described with past tense, but rather with the present perfect tense. It is not simply an incident, but it points continuous period of time, ceaselessly being reformed as something fresh.
人が死ぬことは定規の目盛りみたいに点的な出来事だとかつて思っていたけれど、実際にはそれは過去形ではなく現在完了でかたられるものだ。それはあるひとつの出来事ではなく、実際には継続的な時間の流れのなかでその時々に常に新鮮なものとして刷新されるongoingなものだということに気づく。
